Not THAT funny.... But funny

#PATIAD

Happy Space Day!!

Have you seen the pictures on Astronomy Picture of the Day? They are amazing. Check 'em out.

This was the picture they posted on my birthday - pretty neat, huh?

Have you noticed how oftentimes people are speaking, yet saying nothing at all?
You will talk to them, and they will just regurgitate what you said right back to you.
But that is acceptable to us.
We have this strange need to be the same as those around us, to know that they are on your side, but often that just encourages thoughtless conversation, which is the worst sort of conversation.

I am completely guilty of it.

And yet I get annoyed when others do it.

I have these fantasies that I am a master of speech, that I can use my arsenal of words to get things accomplished, manipulate others' thoughts and actions, and alter the atmosphere of the conversation.

Words are that powerful.

I love Orson Scott Card's novels - he is one of my three favorite authors, and he has these stories full of intelligent children and people that map everything out so carefully and are so witty they always end up on top in the end.

I want to be like that.

I have come to realize some things about myself during the past few years, and #1 is that I am slightly slow in thought. Some things take much too long to process, and I do not work well on the spot. I rarely think ahead and I can be so oblivious to the true impact my words and actions are having. I have been trying extremely hard recently to monitor my words and only react in a way that I would desire someone else to react, but it is so difficult when I have problems thinking quickly enough to remember my intentions.

Do not fear, for I am not nearly as negative and depressed about this as the above makes it sound.

So...

Happy Cino de Mayo!

Cool things about Cinco de Mayo:
  • It is my parent's anniversary.
  • It is Angel's birthday(see below for more info)
  • My Spanish teacher basically said it was a holiday blown up by beer companies so they could get more business
  • And I defended it, mentioning how in elementary school on Cinco de Mayo we would crack eggs full of confetti on the heads of kids we liked.
For a tutorial on how to get these awesome eggs, click here.

Now I am in the mood to make confetti eggs.
Pooh.
So much to do in so little time.

Like homework.
No me gusta.

Now, I am saddened to learn that I missed May 2, the anniversary of the battle of Hogwarts.
There was even supposed to be a seven-minutes of silence thing goin' on.
Double pooh.
So, in honor of Hogwarts, I present this image:

For our bios in Centerstage we created a #YOLO tweet. They were pretty hilarious, if I do say so myself.

But I prefer #PATIAD. Viewer discretion advised.

This kid is hilarious - he is a Welsh student who goes to my school, and now his #PATIAD is getting very, very famous.

Way to go Matt.

Meet Angel.
She is a lovely young woman with a name to match her countenance. This girl is so crazy beautiful, and she is one of the friendliest, happiest chicas en el mundo. I am IN LOVE with her voice - she is the most talented singer, and it is truly heavenly to listen to her. Unfortunately, we go to different high schools, but we still had good memories in Junior High.

P.S. Don't understand the #hashtag ish going around the internet? Here ya go.

P.P.S. Centerstage went well last night. We took longer than expected, forgot the intro to Joyful Joyful, but it was so fun. afterwards we went to IHOP and wreaked havoc upon the poor waitress trying to take orders from all 30+ of us. She was amazing though, so positive and we got our meals very quickly, all things considered.

Friiiiiiday

Happy Star Wars Day!!

May the 4th be with you!

Click here for the Thumb Wars. I haven't watched it in years, so idk if it's any good or not.

I feel like I should win an award for World's Biggest Hypocrite.
Not like it is something that other people really notice, I mostly practice what I preach, but what I think is another story. I forget to keep the same standards for myself that I have for others.

But I do have my good moments. I like to think that I am more accepting of strangers, of those that normally are unfairly neglected or judged from the get-go.

Or, maybe that is actually my weakness - I have this thing where I feel like my best traits I probably don't know of. So in the end, you never really reach humility in your mind because if you knew you had accomplished true humility, you wouldn't have actually. Sometimes knowing the end is a form of pride.

Does that make any sense? It's okay if not, I get it. :)

Opening night for Centerstage is tonight! I'm not really nervous, but I don't really get nervous for performances. Only auditions.

Have a fantastic Friday!

McCall

The Optimistic Ant

Happy Lumpy Rug Day!!!

The Optimistic Ant
"My, what a beautiful pebble."
"Oh, hello there, human, come to see the pebble?"
"Getting a closer look, huh? Fine idea."

Here are some cute things to do with children, or just for fun. So adorable.

And I want a birthday party like this. I'm starting to become a real fan.

It is 10:52 p.m.

I need to get to bed.

Rehearsal ran an hour and a half over today.

G'night.

Goot, Very Goot.

Happy Great American Grump Out!!

Have a happy, complain-free, positive day!!

Today I was pondering deep thoughts during science, when I thought: "If I could have five wishes granted, what would they be?"

Here is what I came up with:

-Languages: I want to be able to speak, understand, read, and write in EVERY language ever uttered on this planet. It would be somethin' that I would keep as my wild card, a skill that I wouldn't go around flaunting.

-Ease in Achieving Physical Goals: this includes me having a stronger willpower, as well as my body itself adapting easier. Like, tan easier, tone quicker, style hair easier, gain endurance faster, etc. etc.

- Quick Mind: more than just being witty, actually having a faster thought process so I can think through everything I say, create better responses, control my facial expressions and body signals, and have more daydreaming time. Also, being able to think multiple thoughts at once would be nice...

-Calm Nature: I would love to just be very easy-going, to never spazz out or get angry. To never let my emotions get the better of me would be amazing.

-Number five? I still can't decide.

If you get bored, click here. Plenty of places to waste away your life.

I'm kinda in love with Alex Goot. And this is the song that introduced me to the most glorious voice to grace this planet. You are very welcome.

I think you get the point.

NOTICE
---------------------------------------------------
To clear upp any confusion, I have a tendency to write posts but not publish them the day I wrote them. So if it obviously isn't  National Eeyore Day but I said it is, that is just me being lazy and putting off the editing ish.

Happy Batman Day!!!

When I was younger, I thought that the Salt Lake City Temple looked like some Batman mansion or something I saw in a cartoon. To all of my close family members on both sides of my family it remains "Batman Temple."

I was so creative, huh?

Oooh, speaking of temples, these are my favorites:

“In the end, the number of prayers we say may contribute to our happiness, but the number of prayers we answer may be of even greater importance.”

“Never give up on anyone. And that includes not giving up on yourself.”

“The heavens will not be filled with those who never made mistakes but with those who recognized that they were off course and who corrected their ways to get back in the light of gospel truth.”

“What you create doesn’t have to be perfect. So what if the eggs are greasy or the toast is burned? Don’t let fear of failure discourage you.”

“The happiest people I know are not those who find their golden ticket; they are those who, while in pursuit of worthy goals, discover and treasure the beauty and sweetness of the everyday moments.”

“We sometimes confuse sin with sinner, and we condemn too quickly and with too little compassion. We know from modern revelation that ‘the worth of souls is great in the sight of God.’ We cannot gauge the worth of another soul any more than we can measure the span of the universe.”

“Love is spelt T.I.M.E.”

“Think of the purest, most all-consuming love you can imagine. Now multiply that love by an infinite amount—that is the measure of God’s love for you. God does not look on the outward appearance. I believe that He doesn’t care one bit if we live in a castle or a cottage, if we are handsome or homely, if we are famous or forgotten. Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God love encompasses us completely. He loves us because He is filled with an infinite measure of holy, pure, and indescribable love. We are important to God not because of our résumé but because we are His children. He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken. God’s love is so great that He loves even the proud, the selfish, the arrogant, and the wicked. What this means is that, regardless of our current state, there is hope for us. No matter our distress, no matter our sorrow, no matter our mistakes, our infinitely compassionate Heavenly Father desires that we draw near to Him so that He can draw near to us.”

-President Uchtdorf

He is so amazing, I could honestly spend hours reading his quotes. Notice that none if the above mention airplanes. Sneaky me.

So.... that's all that I am in the mood for!

Title-less

Happy Bugs Bunny Day!

Prom was two days ago! One of my favorite things ever: being cocooned in three blankets with some music in the background, munching on saltine crackers and scrolling through the abundance of pictures on Facebook. Can't get better than that.

I have a few ideas myself for if I ever go to prom. Numero Uno: no ugly dresses. Honestly, I love them all, but some girls just have the most horrible prom dresses, and I want to know what was goin' on in their heads when they chose them. Numero Dos: hair. Hair can often make or break style for big events like this, and I definitely want something that is cute, and also practical.

Me gusta:

Understand, my dress must be modest, so nothing low-cut or sleeveless.

Makes dress shopping pure torture.

"We've just sucked five hours of your life away...
Tell me, how does it feel?"

Technically, my princess week is over, but I think that I will keep puttin' up some of my pretty ladies for a while.

So, without further ado,

Meet Chelsey.

Mi chica bonita, Chelsey was my VERY first friend when I moved here. She is my sister, the ying to my yang. Our families are very close, and they are all just so fun. Anyway, Chelsey is so kind and wise beyond her years. She has had to go through so much, but she is still the most positive and amazing girls I know. I can always feel comfortable with Chelsey, and she is so beautiful. She is one of those people that you see her personality miles before you actually see her, if that makes any sense. Like, you want to know her before she even says a word. This little brat decided to leave me and go to college, but that doesn't change a thing.
