Have you seen the pictures on Astronomy Picture of the Day? They are amazing. Check 'em out.
This was the picture they posted on my birthday - pretty neat, huh?
Have you noticed how oftentimes people are speaking, yet saying nothing at all?
You will talk to them, and they will just regurgitate what you said right back to you.
But that is acceptable to us.
We have this strange need to be the same as those around us, to know that they are on your side, but often that just encourages thoughtless conversation, which is the worst sort of conversation.
I am completely guilty of it.
And yet I get annoyed when others do it.
I have these fantasies that I am a master of speech, that I can use my arsenal of words to get things accomplished, manipulate others' thoughts and actions, and alter the atmosphere of the conversation.
Words are that powerful.
I love Orson Scott Card's novels - he is one of my three favorite authors, and he has these stories full of intelligent children and people that map everything out so carefully and are so witty they always end up on top in the end.
I want to be like that.
I have come to realize some things about myself during the past few years, and #1 is that I am slightly slow in thought. Some things take much too long to process, and I do not work well on the spot. I rarely think ahead and I can be so oblivious to the true impact my words and actions are having. I have been trying extremely hard recently to monitor my words and only react in a way that I would desire someone else to react, but it is so difficult when I have problems thinking quickly enough to remember my intentions.

Do not fear, for I am not nearly as negative and depressed about this as the above makes it sound.
So...
Happy Cino de Mayo!
Cool things about Cinco de Mayo:
- It is my parent's anniversary.
- It is Angel's birthday(see below for more info)
- My Spanish teacher basically said it was a holiday blown up by beer companies so they could get more business
- And I defended it, mentioning how in elementary school on Cinco de Mayo we would crack eggs full of confetti on the heads of kids we liked.
For a tutorial on how to get these awesome eggs, click here.
Now I am in the mood to make confetti eggs.
Pooh.
So much to do in so little time.
Like homework.
No me gusta.
Now, I am saddened to learn that I missed May 2, the anniversary of the battle of Hogwarts.
There was even supposed to be a seven-minutes of silence thing goin' on.
Double pooh.
So, in honor of Hogwarts, I present this image:

For our bios in Centerstage we created a #YOLO tweet. They were pretty hilarious, if I do say so myself.
But I prefer #PATIAD. Viewer discretion advised.
This kid is hilarious - he is a Welsh student who goes to my school, and now his #PATIAD is getting very, very famous.
Way to go Matt.
Meet Angel.
She is a lovely young woman with a name to match her countenance. This girl is so crazy beautiful, and she is one of the friendliest, happiest chicas en el mundo. I am IN LOVE with her voice - she is the most talented singer, and it is truly heavenly to listen to her. Unfortunately, we go to different high schools, but we still had good memories in Junior High.
P.S. Don't understand the #hashtag ish going around the internet? Here ya go.
P.P.S. Centerstage went well last night. We took longer than expected, forgot the intro to Joyful Joyful, but it was so fun. afterwards we went to IHOP and wreaked havoc upon the poor waitress trying to take orders from all 30+ of us. She was amazing though, so positive and we got our meals very quickly, all things considered.
xoxo,
McCall
