Le Chef

Happy Julia Pierpont Day!

Remember my little "all of the cute dresses are immodest!" rant the other day?
Well, with summer coming up, another bother is finding cute shorts.

Cute & Immodest:

Ugly & Modest:

I only wish that I had the skill to turn these awkward pieces of cloth into unique, stylish bottoms that even the non-mormons at school would envy.

Last night, I had a sleepover with my friend Sam and Abby.  At some point we were retelling a few of our most prized memories as children, and Abby and I recalled our "cooking competitions." In reality, we would just toss together simple ingredients such as cereal, add a few decorations, and call it a gourmet meal, but it was one of our favorite activities. After we did our magic, we would eat each other's creation, crossing our fingers that it involved chocolate.

So, in honor of our past traditions, we had a little cooking party of our own this morning.

Abby's:

She started with a piece of round toast and put granola and chocolate chips on top - then she made us some chocolate milk. Did I mention the Nutella on the side? Pro.

Sam's:
She coated mini marshmallows in graham cracker crumbs and added the mixture to chocolate ice cream - it was actually very good despite the dessert's simplicity.

McCall's:

I had crescent rolls with black cherry topping and apple slices, then frozen yogurt (made from frozen gogurts - classy, I know) and vanilla wafers.

Pretty sure we are the best chefs in town, hands down.

Even better than Mrs. Weasley.

Speaking of Harry Potter, I have two announcements:
1) Sam created her account today and was blessed to become a member of Slytherin.
2) Marissa... well, we will say she is a Ravenclaw.

She took the test.
And was sorted into Hufflepuff.

The horror.

She knew that it must have been a mistake, so she registered under a different email.
And was sorted into Gryffindor.

But it still felt wrong.

Finally, with another email, she was rightfully sorted into her house.
Ravenclaw.

I assured her that the mishap occurred due to a hex placed on the sorting hat by some mischievous fifth years.

Little rascals.

But everything is all fine and dandy now. Life is good.

xoxo,
McCall
