Happy International Tiara Day!
Happy Old-Time Player Piano Day!
Um... so I am very bad at keeping goals.
Ooops.
So much for "posting every day."
Awkward.
Anyway, on Tuesday my friend Alex committed suicide - he jumped in front of a train during school hours, but we didn't hear of it until the next day - they were unable to contact his Dad until later that night, so they kept it from even his closest friends.
He was such a sweetie.
He was the Rabbi at my wedding.
Abby's adoptive father.
Yeah, he was a theatre kid.
He had a Deadmau5 shirt, and I would tease him about his plans to go to our rival school.
He shaved his head to play Daddy Warbucks.
He was in the ninth grade honors choir.
He didn't show up for the 8th grade concert on Tuesday night -
Grove Singers was supposed to perform, and they did, but they only had five guys. We were wondering where Alex went.
He was just the nicest person.
It
still hasn't sunk in yet.
Apparently he did what he did due to bullying.
The kids who are responsible are suspended for their own safety - the rest of the Junior High student body is not on their best terms, apparently.
This was the 7th suicide in 5 years. We have issues.
Mosiah 16:7-9
"7 And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection.
8 But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.
9 He is the alight and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death."
I had the inspiration to write a really insightful, completely understandable post.
But it is 11:01.
And I just ate almost eight smores.
Whoops.
So... g'nite!
And please pray for his family. And his friends. He had such a tight group, I can't even imagine what they are going through.
xoxo,
McCall
